This Candle For You
Our world seems a place of stress and frantic rushing about to accomplish much, and that causes me to question the importance of such. We forget to know our neighbors and be neighborly, failing to enjoy the bonds once formed by the many families living on the same street.  We wave "hello" while we hurry to the car running late for work.  When tragedy strikes we are left with feelings of remorse for missed opportunities, and many times overwhelming grief for the loss of one whose life briefly touched our own - if even only in a quiet way. Sometimes in a distant way. But we must know that everyone with whom we come in contact leaves an imprint of themselves upon us. And when the person of these imprints is lost from us, we are touched with a profound sadness that reaches deep. Healing comes through remembrance and celebration of the life we knew; holding on to the good memories, thinking, laughing, smiling, living - - living for you; I light this candle for you.

Morning Comes
Sadness. Loneliness. Despair. They all too often comprise the daily existence of many. In spite of our desire to live a good and happy life, the darkness crowds in around us and we are engulfed in the black gloom of depression, never finding our way. And even when the sun is bright and warm, we can only see the night shadows. But somehow, God sees and hears our pitiful cries for help. He pierces the night, bringing the true morning Son-shine, the light of the world. And all of the shadows disappear in the face of His unfailing love. Hallelujah!
